TEHRAN German cultural circles have expressed concern over the increasing use of English words by the German publications, radio, television and the youth, a German paper reported.

According to the German magazine ***Der Spiegel***, linguists believe that the Internet, commercial advertisements and lack of scruples in using the language have played an important role in using English words.

The German television recently held a conference on correct application of German words and avoiding the use of foreign lexicon, the magazine added.

At the conference, the German interior minister referred to the politicians' role in weakening their native language by using words from other languages.
